Protip: The plural of anime is anime.

Japanese words are not made plural by adding an s onto the end of them, like it is in English. Same goes for all Japanese words.

Protip: once a word enters the english language it follows english grammar conventions. So if someone pluralizes anime into animes, it is 100% correct.

That said, the point of grammar and punctuation is to make a language understandable and coherent.

So, if you pluralize anime as anime.

CONGRATS, we’ve succeded in grammar!

Same if i pluralize it as animes.

And, if only for a little bit of review, we want to fall back on the great pluralization issue of the millenia.

Octopi, while a mistranslation, is correct.

Octopodes, is correct.

Octopuses, is correct.

Why you say? Because they are all common, understandable, and coherent!

Yaaaaaaaay, isn’t grammar fun!

So, get your head out of your ass and stop trying to police stupid ~*rules*~ that make no sense.

(Standardized spelling and grammar conventions are an entirely different matter that i COULD rant about, but i’m lazy)
